The rooms are bungalow style and are neat and comfortable and feature hand-painted desert scenes on the walls. The grounds are surrounded by palm trees and botanical gardens and the area is very picturesque. The main dining hall is just up the hill and golf carts are used to move guests around if desired. There is also free parking. Our stay at the Ein Gedi Kibbutz hotel also included free vouchers for use of the Ein Gedi spa across the road on the beachfront of the Dead Sea. The hotel was was very comfortable and was not like a traditional kibbutz farm in any way. I would describe it as more of a resort. The best thing about the Ein Gedi Kibbutz Hotel was the people.   "We spent one night at Kibbutz Ein Gedi. The rooms were on the spartan side, but were comfortable enough and clean. The breakfast buffet was very good, but we found the dinner buffet a bit overpriced. Since there is nothing else in the area, they have a captive audience and there were no bargains to ..."be had. there is a spa that we didn't have time to visit, and a lovely pool. The grounds are beautiful--an oasis in the dessert. As others have said, the whole area is reminiscent of the American southwest. My one big complaint is the CATS. there are basically feral cats everywhere and as a cat lover, it bothered me very much that they are clearly starving. They need to capture and neuter these animals to keep the population in check AND they need to feed them. I believe that most visitors would gladly donate to a cat food fun if given the chance.   "This guest house is nice: rooms are clean and good for this price and the food is very tasty. It's close to a sea and it's close to a reserve.Very nice place to stay for couples and for families with children."
