• Kai's Beach House
  "Beautiful house, but the service needs to be improved."
  "We really loved staying at kai's beach house, the decor is very pretty and love the boho style of the place. The house is on the opposite side of the island to all the restaurants and the main swimming beach. Due to the moon / tide as we couldn't swim at the beach where the house is situated as ..."the tide was so far out, and the water very shallow. Which was slightly annoying, but think that was just bad timing. The main beach is a short 10 min bike ride away, nr to the restaurants. My only problem with staying at Kai's beach house was the staff, the maid ( manny ? ) didn't introduce herself properly or make us feel welcome, and didn't have a very professional approach, she didn't clean the rooms every day and left sand on the floor, and was generally a bit sloppy. The breakfast isn't that great, she can make a good pancake which is ok for those with a sweet tooth. The house was built for lounging, with a great movie collection and some books. Fella is a great cook and her dinner was one of the best we had in Indonesia. Another thing of note is that though the house is on the water, you cannot actually swim or use the beach in front as it is mostly covered in shrubbery and the water is full of rocks and coral. The house is about a fifteen minute walk from the other side of the island, where most of the restaurants and hotels are, which is not that big of a deal if you only go back and forth once each day.   "We had an amazing time at Kai's Beach House -- absolutely loved it! First, it is perfectly located on the quiet side of the hip, yet tranquil island of Gili Air. Arriving is so picturesque!! Then we arrived at the house -- super cute and totally funky. There are two bedrooms upstairs, each with its own outdoor bathroom. Taking a shower under palm trees is a fantastic experience! In back of the house, there is a circular dipping swim pool--great for kids or sipping on a cocktail. Behind the pool there its another little guest house with its own bathroom--equally cute and funky. We just loved the decor. The staff was super helpful, cooking and otherwise looking after us.
