  "I stayed in a private room in april 2013. I've stayed in a couple of hostels in Australia and Europe (where the standards are pretty high), and Eight Elephants beats them all. They have a great atmosphere, the staff are really friendly, and they provide everything you would ever need during the stay...". They put little notes by the computers every day with recommendations on what to see in the city, which was greatly appreciated since it rained during my whole stay, and my options of activities were slightly limited. I only stayed 3 nights, but after spending the whole day exploring the city i felt like i was coming home when i got back to the hostel. I stayed in the Dreaming Dragons side, which was a bit more quiet. I would recommend to stay in the Eight Elephants side, (they are next door to each other), where the staff and other guests hang out. The location was really good, with the metro station nearby, and a couple of good eateries and cafes close. I would definitely stay here again... " More >

  "A great little place in an excellent location. Right next to Shilin MRT station, and very close to the excellent night market. The immediate area is great too. Everything you might need, you'll quickly feel like it's your neighbourhood. It could be a little tricky to find but as long as you know ..."the number of the door, and/or print out a map (or use a smartphone) it's very simple - so in response to the person who claims it's very hard to find, a little preparation, i.e. knowing the address, goes a long way. Also, being as Taiwanese are so kind and helpful, just politely ask anyone. My room was certainly bijou, but for a couple of nights it was absolutely fine. I only had a small-ish (bigger than carry on) suitcase. Bed is very comfy, and lots of power points to charge phones, laptop etc. Spotlessly clean, friendly service. Great aircon and wifi. If you are planning to stay there, I suggest you to do a research and finding on the entrance of the hotel (I did it). It is because the entrance is not a normal one and no sign or direction nearby.
