After busy days explorin..."g the Victoria falls and village it was wonderful to get home to the hotel with the flowing lawns down to the banks of the mighty Zambezi, hearing the hippos in the distance, the monkeys and warthogs roaming on the grounds. The staff were friendly and welcoming and very efficient. Nothing was too much trouble.... they arranged an extra TV channel so that my husband could watch a rugby match, changed our pillows which we found too full, and presented my husband with a freshly baked cake on his birthday!   "We stayed here three days while on a tour. All the rooms are suites - a porch out front, a sitting area, separate bedroom and bath. Larger than most one-bedroom apartments. There is a large field with a water hole in front of the porches - good views of animals just sitting on one's porch. They al..."so do game drives - morning and late afternoon - thru the private reserve. Drivers are knowledgeable about the animals. A treat to see black rhinos - the reserve has a research station with armed guards to protect the endangered species. Breakfast and dinner were included in the package we had. Breakfasts were great - lots of choices plus eggs cooked to order. We never had lunch there. Dinners were OK - the steak the first night was very tough, but fish and veggie dishes were very good. The not-so-great steak is the reason for only 4 stars. While they have an electric fence to keep animals out of the lodge area, the baboons have figured out how to get over it - so you also get some amuseme... " More >
