We booked a junior suite which was one of the nicest hotel rooms I have stayed in and had a wonderful view over Carthage and the sea. The hotel is set away from the town but perfectly located for the main Punic ruins and museum and boats amazing views. However, there is no swimming pool which would be big minus for an extended stay, as beyond the ruins there's not much to do in the daytime near the hotel. We found the staff extremely friendly, courteous and helpful. The hotel is expensive: comparable to a five star but without the full range of amenities. However for a night or two luxury and exploring what's left of ancient carthage, I would highly recommend it. " More >

The only hotel in Tunisia listed on www.LHW.com was The Residences in Tunis and even though it's a gorgeous hotel, it is not in Carthage where the exclusive parties tak..."e place. So I went out on a limb and chose the trendiest 5 star hotel... Villa Didon took my breath away from the moment I stepped into the hotel. The view reminded me of Malibu with a touch of Monaco and a splash of Mykonos. Not sure if you have been to any of those places but a combination of those 3 pretty much tops it all. There was not a single cloud in the sky cause Spring already started and so did my vacation! The suite was pretty modern and very edgy. It came with all party amenities, free Wi-Fi, a Jacuzzi in the middle of the suite facing the sea, 2 huge walk in closets which will be handy when I return all summer, 1 extra large balcony to entertain friends while enjoying the... Food got even better as a French cook got involved in setting up the menu. Ladiesnight on Wednesday evening is worth being. View on the bay of Tunis remains marvellous. We'..."ll be back.
