  "My Wife and I stayed in room #29 on 30th May 2013. From the outside, we weren't sure what to expect (looked a little plain), but on the inside, absolutely beautiful! It was a large room that looked like it was recently refurbished (everything looked brand new), which had a double bed and a single ..."bed. Tea, coffee, biscuits and milk were all complimentary. There was a paid minibar in the room as well, but we didn't have anything from it. Bathroom was a reasonable size, and was nice and clean. The shower is a bathtub with a shower curtain. Not a huge fan of curtains, but they were spotlessly clean, so no dramas there. Beds and pillows were comfortable, with extra pillows available in the wardrobe. Good sized flat screen TV with Foxtel/Austar channels was also in our room. Out the back door of our room was a swimming pool (too cold, didn't use it) and a kids playground. Whilst owners change from time to time the amazing East Coast setting is a constant wow factor. The latest owners Sheila and Robert had a hard act to follow but have over achieved in their respons..."e. The restaurant signature seafood dish is still amazing, thanks To Mark the chef, the Fairy penguins just as adorable, the 'owners touch' still apparent in the spotless accommodation and to be able to relax with a good book from the extensive DI library in front of a real fire warmed our hearts. It is becoming increasingly rare to have the owners of a resort of this size on site, to talk to and share stories. When owners care it shows, when a guest doesn't care it shows. Mistreating wildlife by patting the Penguins and insulting an owner are a sad reflection on the guest, not the hardworking and honest owner. We'll be back to enjoy a Bicheno gem and relax.
