  "After a couple of days at Coolinda Lodge 1/2 hour down the road, we spent a night here in Jabiru. I was not sure what to expect as it looks a little "quirky" on the web--hotel shaped like a croc. Well it really was a croc and it was really cool! This is an upscale Holiday Inn and we totally enjoyed ..."our night here. Our room was huge, comfortable and clean. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. The highlight for me was what was living in the center courtyard (belly of the croc) which was full of trees and open to the jungle. I slept near the open slider and was awakened by a total racket of birds at dawn. It was so loud I had to get up to see what was going on. Hundreds of large white birds were being kicked out of their night time roost by, of all things, very large fruit bats, which had come in to roost for the day in the same trees. It was really a sight and sound to behold!! These bats are totally harmless, quite large, and hang all day upside down in the trees until it is time to go ... " More >

  "Good hotel with a good restaurant. Suggest asking for a room on ground floor if you aren't good with stairs as there are no lifts. Found all staff to be very helpful.
