  "We bought this from a KGB deal and read the reviews with trepidation! On arrival the building is fantastic and in lovely grounds. The receptionist was helpful as was all the staff. They couldn't do enough to help us and printed out directions of local attractions to visit. Don't get me wrong, ..."the hotel is in dire need of a major refurbishment but for what we paid you could not go wrong. We had a big room (25) and yes it took some time to get the shower to the right temperature! However the room was more than adequate. We ate in the hotel on the first night and although the menu isn't extensive, the fish and chips were fab. Sheila was helpful and always seemed to be on duty. With a little love and attention this hotel could easily be 5 star. " More >

  "Had a lovely couple of days away. Staff a bit over friendly for my liking - I didn't need to know of their staffing issues. Room was a great size/shape although none of the accessories matched the room decor. Sunday lunch was great but limited options.
