Luckly we had the attic room; it was quite small but it felt like we are staying in an "inn" in the Bourbon times with wooden columns, old glass windows and old style wooden curtain... And more important than anything, we could see the main road, other old buildings sorrounding ours and part of the tower from the window.. So who cares about the size of the room or the narrow stairs you have to take or the uncomfortable bed or unlocking the backdoor to be able to get back to your room after -I can't remember what time- or very good breakfast which would surprise you for sure. The cottage was well equipped and central to Pontorson, with shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. We recommend you try Le Grillon for a meal,. the menu is extensive and varied and good quality. It..." is best to book as it is very popular. A couple of times we couldn't get in! If you have a car there are many places to visit within easy reach. Bayeux is well worth a visit, and we were pleasantly surprised to find easy and free parking. The d day landing beaches are also in easy reach, as is St., Malo, Cancale, and Dinan, which has a lovely walk on the ramparts of the castle, but if you have walking difficulties don't try it. Very steep! We visited Mont Saint Michel but found it very busy and again very steep steps, we thought it was better viewed from a distance!
