  "As our flight to London was cancelled for 2 days due to industrial action in France, we needed to find accommodation for 2 nights near Montpellier. The lady at the airport's tourist office suggested the Mercure La Grande Motte Port. She obviously was good at her job. She phoned the hotel, agreed ..."the price and pointed us in the direction of the taxi rank. 15 minutes later, we were being personally welcomed by the receptionist. The bedroom was large, airy, well-equipped and had a marvellous balcony view of the marina and the promenade. This is probably more of a business/conference type hotel but anyone who wants a clean, restful hotel with a great view and easy access to nearby restaurants and the extra bonus of a decent sized pool, I would recommend you check out the Mercure La Grand Motte.   "This small hotel is close to conference centre so gets delegates staying. We were on holiday but the location is close to all Grande Motte amenities beaches, restaurants all in easy walking distance. We didn't use our car at all once we were there. Rooms are adequate size and have nice balconies for..." relaxing. Hotel seems to have been recently refurbished - newly decorated rooms - - new pool decking area which was lovely. Bathrooms are quite small and cramped but we had a lovely new walk in shower which had been squeezed in. There is secure parking (extra 10 euros). Staff are very friendly and helpful.
