There are some nice hiking trails around the Abbey of Monte Cassino and it is also possible to discover the landscape with a rental bike.   "This is a large 3 bedroomed villa set in it's own grounds. It 's in a beautiful valley, with 6000ft mountains behind the property. They were snow capped during our visit. The villa was a little difficult to find, but with Dominique's help we made it and it was well worth the effort. The location is ..."a couple of miles from the small town of Atina, which has reasonable facilities and a very useful supermarket. We explored the area, including longer trips to Naples, Rome, Montecassino and the mountains. The property was an excellent base of our holiday and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. " More >
