As if that wasn't enough he jumped into the car to help show me where to park the motor to avoid the marauding traffic wardens. Charles is a wonderful host, a gentleman, and jolly nice bloke to boot! As others have mentioned he was kind enough to drop us off at cowdray park for the wedding and re parked our car....a wonderful touch. The actual rooms are immaculate, we stayed in the cowdray room, one of the best beds we have stayed in, up there, really up there with the best, giving a great nights sleep that is needed after the excesses of a wedding.   "I had a feeling when I checked Tripadvisor before booking that the Spread Eagle would be OK. The reason? The General Manager responded to the reviews on TA. My wife and I were not disappointed. The reception was efficient and friendly, the room very nicely designed by someone with a 'light' touch a..."nd everything pristine. Only one criticism of the room was nothing on which to put luggage apart from the floor. The indoor pool while small was fine and well maintained. Service and quality in the restaurant were excellent and the bar staff were also very professional. The breakfast was cooked to order which is rare today and tasted very good.
