  "We stayed at the Thatched Cottage for 2 nights and had a room in the new part of the hotel. The room is good and the beds are very comfortable. Soft topping on a normal l;arge bed for 2 persons. And the apple cake/muffin was absolutely delicious and fresh. Further a very good choice for eggs in all kind of ways. Even American blueberry pancakes on the menu! Anything you like and Martin makes it for you. The menu for the dinner is very surprising and the food is excellent! Everything is made by Martin and it is absolutely delicious and fresh. The service is good, atmosphere cosy. My husband and I had a wonderful weekend, my husband because of the autojumble and I because of the fantastic food Martin made.   "Recently returned for a fantastic lunch at The Pig, in idyllic surrounds. The food was excellent, service exemplary from bar to the table. I had also celebrated a birthday there, yet another wonderful dinner. The herb/vegetable/"secret" garden is great to wander around, viewing the source of what..." I earlier ate, nothing gets fresher than that. The 25 mile menu is a fantastic example of how the chefs have sourced as much as possible from their doorstep, using British produce. Trying new seasonal things like a "foragers sorbet" (hand foraged berries etc.) was fantastic. The steak (I have tried sirloin and T-bone) is the best I have eaten, worldwide.
