  "We spent a week in this faboulous hotel,departing on May 18. When we arrived we realized that we were not happy with the room assigned: we needed much more privacy. The reception employers and , especially, the front Manager Mrs. Claire, were so nice to find us a suitable solution very quickly. W..."e had a relaxing holiday, far away from any problem. The private swimming pool is just wonderful. The beach is also very comfortable and the spa gives a lot of opportunity with a well equipped gym, an indoor pool, sauna and hamman. Why ask for more? We wish to give our positive comments after visiting other hotels in the surrounding. This is the only one that really gives you the view on the Spinalonga Island.   "This is one of the best hotels that I have been to in a long time. Okay so it is a little bit tired looking if you want to go looking for problems but to me and my partner it was superb. The staff are so friendly and helpful (they are what made the holiday for us). Dimitri behind the bar and Dimi..."tria in the snack bar (not sure if this how their names are spelt) are the nicest people that i have come across in all my years of going abroad. The views from our room (no. 77) were amazing. Okay so there was a bit a a whistling noise coming from the door when it was windy but the view we had was amazing. if you do go i would recommend going full board because the bar snacks are amazing (the chef deserves a medal). it may not be to everyones taste but we really cannot fault our holiday the whole fortnight we were there. It is located on a large site on both sides of the coastal road between Plaka and Elounda - guests pass under the road to go from the beach/spa/restaurants and the rooms. They are linked by a panoramic funicular which shuttles up and down pretty efficiently. It did break ..."down a couple of times when the staff lay on club cars for those who dont fancy the 180 steps. The hotel is no beauty from the outside, but very well designed, hanging off the rugged Cretan cliffs to the East overlooking Spinalonga, "The Island' in Victoria Hislop's book. This means that they are in shade by mid afternoon, something to think about if you're tempted by one of the rooms with its own pool, which are not a massive premium. It didnt bother us as the grounds are enormous and there is plenty of space to stay on or around the beach until the early evening.
