Right around the corner is a street with select bars and rest (for a price) but if you walk off-road a bit, you can get reasonable priced food that is good too (Hooistraat for one, if you turn at Dendy's rest). The tram stop is a 3-4 minutes walk (not complicated, just straight then turn left). Good size shower, & the free wifi worked very well. The continental breakfast was fine. As everywhere we've ever been in Holland, all the staff spoke excellent english. Took only 5 minutes to get to the railway station, & cafes in the Plein just a stone's throw away. Only very minor criticism was, like many other modern hotels, the room had no drawers, so storing clothes was a little awkward.   "We spent two nights in Residenz and really enjoyed it. We were greeted by Frank with a coffee and some explanations about the city after our 2 hour drive. The room was very large, nicely decorated and had a seating area with fire place and television. The only negative point is that the bed consists..." of 2 mattresses, while we would have preferred one. The bathroom (separate bath and shower) was also quite large and had everything we needed. We ordered the love arrangement (roses and champagne) and they set it up when we got back from dinner (we gave them a call so the champagne would still be cold). In the morning, we had breakfast downstairs (you can also have it in the room) and it was very good: different kinds of bread, cheese, meat, fresh fruit salade, orange juice and eggs (made to order, so you choose what you want).
