Staff were helpful and whilst a bit out of town the walk to the centre was about 20 mins and the view over Salamanca was spectacular. Parking was easy and free.   "We just spent 2 nights at Puerta de la Catedral. Our arrival and check in was very efficient. We found out upon check in that the hotel has an underground parking. It is a little difficult to find but we were quite happy not to have to park far away from the hotel. There is an additional charge...". Our room was clean and very spacious for European standards. We even had a lovely large terrace with a view on cathedral. The view from room 106 was incredible by day and quite magical by night with the cathedral towers illuminated. We had booked the bed and breakfast option. The breakfast buffet was excellent and you event had the option of getting eggs, bacon and other meats at no extra charge. I certainly do not hesitate to recommend this hotel. The only minor inconvenience is the spotty internet connection. " More >
• Parador de Salamanca
  "Worth the walk for fabulous views"
  "We stayed at the Parador for 2 nights to explore Salamanca, which is a beautiful city with golden-red sandstone buildings and a perfect plaza. The parador is located on the opposite side of the river, across the Roman bridge, so is perfectly positioned for a fantastic panoramic view of the old city...". All the public areas of the parador, including the restaurant, have these great views, and if you're lucky enough to have a room at the front, you'll have these from your room too. As we had one of their special deals, we had a room on the other side of the hotel, overlooking the car park (!) The rooms are of a high quality, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Everywhere in the hotel was very quiet and peaceful and at times there appeared to be no other guests, although at breakfast there were other people around. Staff were friendly and helpful.
