We decided to get a meal at the Park Gate Inn BIG MISTAKE as everything seemed to be sold out and service was very slow. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of choice and as much as you wanted. Then it was to the castle itself we went, to my wife's enjoyment and she loved it ( ok so did I ), when we arrived back at our room the flowers that I organised had arrived so I got yet another big smile, tonight we are going to the Windmill for a meal so will review on that later.   "Stayed here last night and was pleasantly surprised. For £30 + £7.65 for all you can eat breakie, it was great value. Every member of staff was helpful and curtious. The room was basic, but it was clean, everything worked and it was very warm. Sure, if you opened the window, you could hear the traff..."ic, but you're in a city centre-what do you expect. Walked to Spoons for a great steak dinner and a couple of pints. Then got a very cheap taxi (Apollo taxis) £7, to Maidstone Studios for a recording of Later with Jools Holland.   "Stayed here for 4 nights while working in Maidstone. Location is a little strange, is in the middle of some sort of campus, has a school close by and a University I think, is a little difficult to find, the postcode on my sat nav took me somewhere completely different. The hotel itself is containe..."d within a renovated Victorian Manor House which looks superb from the outside in its own grounds. I had a standard double room which was very modern and clean, nice modern bathroom, the room was a little cramped, as was the bathroom which was a little annoying as there was no space to put anything, but overall the room was fine. Nice restaurant which serves bar food but a limited menu, breakfast was a buffer style with cooked and continental which was fine, service was fine. The only drawback is the Hotel/House itself is predominantly used for functions, conferences and business meetings, and a couple of times when returning at night there were private functions going in and I had limited...
