Wonderful Hotel and a friendly welcome right from the off when were we were greeted with a genuine fiiendly guy on reception. We asked for a room on the top floor and had to climb up the stairs as..." the lift only goes to thee 2nd floor, but that was ok as we were given a large twin bed room (301) which was clean, modern and tidy and very quiet that looked over the square and car park (which is free to guests between 4pm and 10.00 am). We were attending a party in another hotel so didn't eat in but the restaurant looked very inviting and the menu seemed very good. After a good nights sleep we had a fantastic full english breakfast that was plentiful and very nicely cooked. The staff were effecient and friendly and courses were served without a delay. This stay was a real wake up call to us - Travelodges are so basic and tiny in comparison, can't believe the level of comfort we got here for the same price; little differences like an in room phone, 2 beside tables & lights make all the difference.
