Plenty of hot water though. The TV was a flat screen with cable, roughly 40-50 channels. The dinner was good. I had a delicious soup followed by pork medallions and maple ice cream for dessert. For breakfast we had cut fruit, toast, fried egg. We also tried the outdoor spa which was very relaxing. I agree that this is not an upscale resort (was rated 3 stars by the Quebec tourism board) so it would be unfair to compare it to a pricier hotel. For the money we paid we got great value and I would do it again at the same resort. I feel the very negative comments here are from people who expect 4 or 5 star accommodations for a chea... Yes this well-known Hotel is a bit dated but if you want quality=price, it is still a nice place to get away and relax even just overnight. May I say that we were blown away with the supper included in our stay. Chef Réjean did a fabulous job with the volaille supreme & hubby had the veal escalope, starting with great salad and soup. Dessert great, atmosphere fab and prices for good wines less expensive than other good restaurants, and we finished the bottle in our room.   "I stayed at Hotel Le Chantecler for three nights as part of an international conference that was holding its meeting there. The hotel was charming, with a beautiful vista, and the food was French grourmet and thus excellent! However, I had a potential disaster by losing my wallet in the taxi o..."n arrival. Fortunately, the hotel staff acted superbly, by going well beyond what might be expected. They called in some contacts in the travel industry and eventually tracked down the specific taxi driver who had taken me to the hotel, and they recovered my wallet, fully intact, so that within one day I had my wallet back. Even though it was not their fault for my loss, the hotel management intervened proactively and wonderfully to enable me to relax and enjoy my visit. I convey my warm thanks and sincere congratulations to them.
