  "Blu Trea was the first B&B I stayed at in South Africa. I didn't know what to expect. It is located in Melville, an "upmarket" suburb of Johannesburg. Upon arrival at Blu Trea, I entered into an automatic garage door that opened into the private courtyard space of the property. There was a nice ..."water-feature in the middle that made the place feel very serene from the start. As I walked around toward my room, there was also a patio that could seat quite a few for an outdoors meal. There was also a small pool at the end of the common space. My room was in a detached structure, sharing a wall with another room. The beds were comfortable and afforded me very good rest. The bathroom featured a unique glass sink basin, which was pretty cool. The room also had a refrigerator with an honesty bar and a desk. Wifi here was also pretty reliable.   "We were looking for a reasonable place to stay that was walking distance from some good restaurants in Johannesburg as we flew in during the evening and were departing town in the morning. I read about the Melville location in Lonely Planet and saw that Motel Mi Pi CHi was recommended in several pla..."ces. We book two of the rooms and got a great price. The Melville neighborhood was pretty quiet and not as busy as I had hoped, but the food was amazing at the Lucky Bean down the street. The Motel itself had secure parking and a guard at night. I felt safe the whole time we were there and walking around. The rooms were very clean, well decorated, and had a lot of space. The Motel is pretty small so you are never very far from your car, the front desk, or your friends in the other rooms. Lastly the included Breakfast was as good as anywhere. If you staying in Melville there are a few places closer to 7th street. The 5-10 minute walk to 7th street was the biggest downside of Mi Pi Chi... " More >
