  "Just returned from a two week holiday at the Bachata,our third stay in as many years,so we must like something about it.The place still has a lovely laid back atmosphere,the management and staff are faultless and the resort is kept in a pristine condition. The invasion of the locals at the weekend ..."is still a shock to the system but with a bit of planning you can keep the disruption to a minimum(avoid the buffet for dinner and book the speciality restaurants and stay away from the pool area during their stay)then Sunday afternoon everything returns to it's tranquil normality. The only decline we have found since our first trip is the choice of food available.What's offered is still of a good quality and well cooked but the variation has definitely reduced so over a two week period it can become a little repetitive and unimaginative.That's not to say we ever went hungry but this little niggle probably reflects the current economic climate.   "We also returned from the Riu Bachata on 13th May. Without a shadow of doubt this hotel is the best we have ever stayed in. They cater for all age ranges, if you want the activities around the pool ( competitions and games ) all well and good. If not venture a few yards down to the beach where you h..."ave peace and tranquillity. One down side to the resort is ( for us ) Caribbean Street where the vendors do not seem to understand our " browsing ", every time you walk past they are on your case trying their utmost to get you to spend your dollars. All the staff are excellent and every single one speaks as they pass. The reps, Jose and Dindo are second to none, any issues and they soon point you in the right direction. Entertainment during the evenings was quite good although when the main act finishes at 10.30 most people seem to leave.   "First visit to the DR and it lived up to all expectations. The hotel excelled in everything , location , food and drink. The hotel is situated on the beach giving guests the opportunity to use the pool or the beach. The beach stretches, enabling nice walks along it , stopping at the beach bar huts f..."or a little drink. The resturants serve a variety of food - can't believe anybody would struggle to find something they like regardless of how picky they may be ! The staff are amazing from bar staff Juan , Mr Drinky Drinky , to resturant staff Guilellermero , Ramon and Arecele. The staff are welcoming friendlly and love speaking to the guests . Got quite addicated to all the cocktails on offer and the rum ! Some people moan about the locals coming in to the hotel on the weekend but you have to embrace them it is their country after all.
