I do my research and pay for what I want. We booked a Lakeview Refurbished Balcony room. Yes, it was pricey - but I got what I paid for, too! Of course, you never know exactly what you are going to get. Wow! Our room was wonderful! Yes, it was older looking, old fashioned claw-foot tub with a funny shower in the bathroom. But, what fun! We are experiencing HISTORY! We stayed here for 3 nights, at the end of our Glacier vacation. It was so wonderful and beautiful.   "This fabulous old rustic hotel has wonderful history as its pedigree. Set in one of the most beautiful mountain valleys in the world. Refurbishing has managed to retain the unique character. One huge and continuing problem is the choice of chefs who can't seem to understand that people come here ..."for the Montana bounty. No rainbow trout or white fish or Angus beef are on the menus. Instead I was served a plate of solidly CLOSED clams! Where ever did those come from?We all know to never serve any but fresh and fully open shell fish. On our trip to Glacier we could not get a room at first at Many Glacier but we called everyday for a cancellation and it paid off. Yes it is old but has such character! The views and location are ou..."tstanding. It is also the best place to take a picture of the sunrise, right at the entrance by the bridge.How convenient ! We ate breakfast and dinner there and it was okay. But we were not there for the food. While we were at Glacier we went from "rags to riches", from the cabins to the hotel. We are glad we stayed at the cabins first and would not trade that experience but did enjoy the beauty of this hotel. " More >
