"As a solo traveler I stayed at Nawori for two nights. Nawori has a beautiful setting on a low cliff next to the sea, just opposite of Wala Island. The owner Etienne runs a tight ship together with his friendly wife. The rooms are basic but clean. The generator is run every day from 6pm to 9pm, provi..."ding light and an opportunity to charge batteries. Meals were basic but nice, and very fairly priced at 400 Vatu. The Small Nambas performance nearby was very nicely done, and so much better than the Big Nambas at Mae which in hindsight I wish I had skipped. If you are there on a Sunday I recommend visiting church (also if you usually don’t go) to see the community gather in their colorful dresses and listen to the beautiful singing. "For those who are adventure travelers off the beaten path.....this is the place your looking for. Rustic accommodations with the best accommodations offered on island. Our host Etienne and Lynn were very helpful and accommodating. The views of the bugalow breath taking. A word of caution....trucks a..."re the only mode of transport and must be willing to hop in the back of the truck.
Over all experience.....Awesome!

"Etienne and lyne are exceptional hosts for whom nothing is too much. Lynne's cooking is beautiful; big home style meals. Etienne goes out of his way to ensure you see what you want and you get there on time. Within the first hour of being there lyne had organized a boat to take us to wala island to ..."snorkel.
Room was spacious with a lovely window out to the sea. It was very clean and the bathroom area had lovely home touches. The gardens are immaculate and come complete with 4 ginger kittens. Their family is extremely welcoming and will sit and have a chat with you.
Malekula is the real Vanuatu. It is quiet and you can find your own 'private' beach or reef without having to pay to be at a large international resort. Small nambas were excellent and the cannibal site very informative.
