We will return in whale season so we can see them from the balconies! The owners have created a very useful file with activities, information, restaurant idea etc which was very helpful. The town is only a short drive away and has a good supermarket and all other amenities required. There are several wine farms, restaurants and even a fantastic petting zoo/play park for the kids in the area and you can go shark cage diving if you feel adventurous. We went for a more child friendly sea excursion and saw a whale (out of season!) a school of dolphins (at least 20 of them really close!) penguins etc. After all the excursions the house was a great safe haven of tranquilli...   "We stayed here for 3 nights. If you are looking for a true country retreat near Cape Town-then this is it. We stayed in the rondavel which has wifi! For city dwellers- a great plus! The rondavel was well equiped and the stay pleasant. The nearby town of Botriver has a quaint little alternative hotel..." well worth a visit. The farm is furthermore very close to Cape Town. We measured it about 60kms from Somerset West. The farm seems to be a hotspot for mountainbikers and you can see why. Lots of mountainpasses and rivers around to negotiate. Dont bargain on relying on the restaurant for food though. It seems to have closed down. Make sure to bring enough supplies. The nearest town with grocery stores is Villiersdorp and it is a few k's away and mostly gravel road. Annoying if you're tired. Apart from that- great place. I'd like to buy it. :-) " More >
