  "As the name suggests , ORCHARD PALACE , as the name indicates , is a palace convereted in to a hotel , by the royal family. The place is very well maitained . Even though only myself & wife , were staying , we were made very comfortable & safe.the room was very large with all the comforts required.F..."ood was tasty & served with personal touch .Outside it is beautiful & early morning fully enjoyed the company of PEACOCKS , which were in plenty.We were taken round the collection of cars , which r very well maintained by the Royal familly & their enthusiastic staff. Other speciality is the train , which has been converted into room , with all the comforts for the guests to stay.A brief visit tot he city takes one round another palace maintained by the same family, which houses museum , among other things .Personaly it was a great experience stying at the orcard palace .   "Like many Heritage properties in India, the Orchard Palace offers a faded charm of bygone days. Despite its huge grounds you're not away from it all and the city remains quite present: The nearby road is one of the main ones in and out of Gondal and the temple across the road certainly makes its ..."presence heard. The rooms are huge and despite the age of the building we had no problems with either hot water or A/C. There are plenty of mosquitoes however and it is certainly a good idea to have the staff spraying your room. Dinner was served at a communal table where guests have the oportunity to meet. While some will no doubt appreciate a chance to share experiences it may not be to everybody's taste. As of March 2013, the price of dinner was 500INR per person (+/- 10USD). We found the food to be some of the best we've had in Gujarat. The staff and in particular the young manager that took care of us was absolutely excellent.
