  "This hotel is comfortable. There isn't a wow factor about the hotel and the bathroom is the "unit bath" as what Japanese call it. There was a picture of the bathroom posted. But I would recommend you using the indoor "public" bath and they have the onsen outdoors. Felt great to soak in there for..." a bit after a long day of sightseeing. The room is a little bigger than average Japanese hotels. Very, very reasonable price including breakfast buffet. The kids were free except we had to pay half price for their breakfast. My childrens' ages are 6 and 3. On the roof, there is a small dome. During the day, if it isn't hazy, you'll have a beautiful view of the mountains and Mt. Fuji. You'll have great view of the stars and could look into the telescope if the weather permits. When we went, it rained at night so weren't able to enjoy that.   "Older hotel with excellent service"
  "We stayed one night with our extended family while riding at the near by White Saddle Ranch. All of the hotel staff were very courteous and friendly. They graciously accommodated our two and six year old daughters behavior. Both rooms were spacious and the six of us could easily have stayed in a ..."single room. Fuji-san is in full view from the large balcony windows. The traditional Kaiseki style dinner was delicious with a generous number of dishes to fill even a large american. The indoor onsen bath was pleasant, the outdoor bath a bit cool for my liking. On the morning of our departure the hotel offered koi food to my daughter and provided a shuttle to take us to the near by Heidi's Village kids park. The hotel manager saw us off with the personal attention more expected of a small ryokan owner. Overall the service, meals, and spacious rooms more than make up for the older facilities. " More >

  "Private villa for a reasonable price"
  "The resort consists of hundreds of villas of which dozens of villas are run by a resort company and offered for pay per night rent. We payed a little extra and stayed in one of the top 5 rated villas with a private balcony bath. The room was very spacious and could accomodate a group of 6 or more...". Obviously far too comfortable for just tow of us. The centre of the resort where a reception & restaurants are look a bit busier but our villa was remote in the mountain thus very quite and pleasant. Rooms are very clean, the outdoor bath was very relaxing. Although the villa was built in a north-American wooden style, it has one small room with Japanese tatami mats & a warm kotatsu, which added a night stay a pleasant & warm accent. All this for 20,000 yen (240 USD) for two of us per night. We saw an ad saying a sizable villa like ours is for sale for 20 million yen (240k USD). Definitely better paying by night if you are not using the villa more than 1,000 nights in your life. " More >
