The atmosphere was very casual and laid back - her dog and cats were always about, something our boys (3&6) ab..."solutely loved. Louise had a fire ready for us which heated up the house quite nicely, and was always ready to provide a kettle, turn the heat up, loan a blanket, provide more firewood... anything at all we needed. Everything was easy about the house - it was close to all the sites (the absolute furthest is about 30-40 minutes) and provided easy access to restaurants, cafes, petrol, and a grocer (Carefour) in Grandcamp-Maisy, all within walking distance. The Carefour actually had great baguettes and cheese!   "This complex is set up for vacation rentals, but also accepts short stays. I reserved a one-BR apartment and actually got a pretty large, 2 BR that would sleep at least 6. (One double bed +3 bunk beds, plus a futon sofa in the LR). I arrived late but the staff taped a note on the office door how ..."to get in, all worked out OK. The facility looks clean and well maintained. Covered and outdoor parking. Dishes, cooking equipment,and utensils are provided for the full kitchen. Adequate, simple towels and bedding were provided. Sparse furniture is all-white flimsy "Ikea" type, and the shower was so small I could barely turn around, but I was actually in the apartment very little (gone from 9AM to 11PM both nights) so it didn't matter. Grandcamp Maisy is a charming if sleepy working fishing village. On checkout the staff was friendly and helpful. There are excellent restaurants and a grocery store/gas station nearby.   "Louise the owner met us when we arrived and had made a lovely fire to welcome us. We were slightly late due to the ferry etc and I later realised (after checking my voice mail) Louise had thoughtfully phoned us just in case we were lost or something! Louise is great for information about the area an..."d always happy to help. Mirabelle is a comfortable, friendly cottage that's lovely to come home to after a long days exploring! It's got pretty much everything you need inside for cooking, the bathroom has a lovely powerful hot shower and I must say the bed we slept in was probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! There is British/French tv and wfi to keep the younger ones happy! The cottage is in a great location. Grandcamp is a pleasant seaside town with a supermarket with petrol station, several smaller shops, restaurants and bank machines.
