  "We wanted to stay in a ryokan, and Chiyoda Inn ticked the boxes, close to Minimasenju station, and therefore only a couple of stops (with a train change) from Narita. Not speaking Japanese, I'd used google maps to locate us; a short, clear path from the station. We arrived the night of a massiv..."e storm and google maps wasn't sensitive to the back lane we needed to take. But a customer at the local 7-11 showed us the amazing Japanese hospitality by leading us the last few metres himself. The Ryokan was neat and clean, and the houserobes a welcome change after the flight and rain. There is train noise, but it soon passes from attention. We had a room overlooking the cemetery that was previously the Kozukappara execution grounds (Tripadvisor's local 'things to do' and much more charming than it sounds). We've stayed in more upmarket places since, by the Choyoda Inn wins for effort and friendliness. There's also an art gallery housed in the Inn. " More >
