  "This is the hotel of one of the best wineries of the Rioja wine region, north of Spain. It is not easy to arrive, in fact the only real possibility is by car. You can use a rental car, the distance to a big city is about 150 Km from Bilbao for example on a very good highway. Apart from the winery, ..."the hotel building itself is the great touristic attraction, to the point that they don´t let you pay a visit!!. (due to the incredible volume of people, I was on a Friday, and there were lots!!). The only possibility if you do not have a reservation in the hotel, is to buy a guided visit to the winery complex. We discovered that the other possibility is to make a reservation in the restaurant, what I strongly recommend anyway. The hotel is, building apart, a good luxury small hotel. Good service and everything, expensive for being in the countryside, but not in absolute terms for what you get.   "My only complaint is I only stayed one night"
  "I traveled from Bilbao to this absolutely magnificent hotel. It is one of the best hotels i have ever stayed at. Of course the building itself is a landmark, but how often do you get to stay at a landmark. The inside is just as good as the outside. My room was actually not on the main building, w..."hich may seem a downer, it wasn't . The room was huge, two ground floor balconies overlooking the vineyard. I could walk from the balcony of my room to the spa, through the vineyard. Speaking of the SPA it is amazing, the pool and the jacuzzi which also overlook the SPA is also amazing. The bathroom in the room has a huge jacuzzi/tub and a separate huge shower, double sinks, awesome amenities the works. The tour of the winery is free for guests and it is very good, so is the wine of course. We had dinner at their gourmet restaurant and it was , you guessed it absolutely amazing.   "This hotel is in the middle of nowhere other than rioja wine country but is definitely worth a detour. We hired a taxi from Vittoria Gasteiz train station for eighty euros. The Ghery designed building is quirky and wonderful. The interior and exterior design details and ever changing impact of the ..."light were fabulous to behold. Our spacious room in the second building had a stunning view over the Elciego village and church and a generously sized marble faced bathroom. The dining room was relaxed, beautifully designed and airy and service was impeccable though the tasting menu which was a bit imbalanced only just made Michelin star quality in our opinion. Breakfast was excellent and served by a charming lady. The hotel manager, a Portuguese, seemed very committed to ensuring a very high and personalised standard of customer service.
