We weren't looking forward to it and prepared our snobbish expectations for the grimness of 3*. But, this is the best family holiday we've had. Aparthotel Puerto Azul isn't pretending to be anything it's not. It's basic and a bit dated but had such charm. It's unpretentious and, the staff - God love their hard-working behinds - and other guests made it a sincere and happy time. For breakfast the fastest omelette maker this side of the Urals will cook one for you whilst you wait. Loads of different cereals. If you want the full English it's there....and so is the full Spanish. Great selection for the evening meal, especially fish, which suited me fine. If it's not included in your deal, the €3.50 per head for as much wine or beer as you want with the meal is good value. Fresh fruit was always there and the selection of deserts was good.   "We have just returned home after a glorious weeks holiday at playa mar. Me, my hubby and our 2 girls aged 6yrs and 19months booked and traveled with Thompson self catering. Flight was fab so quick! Transfer was good to not too long for our tired girls! First impressions of the hotel were excelle..."nt staff were very helpful and we could relax as soon as we arrived. ROOMS: lovely and clean when we arrived, maids came everyday and cleaned while we were there also. Kitchenette area was basic but what we were expecting and did us fine for the week. Only thing I could of taken with us would be dish cloth and washing up liquid. also prob tea bags and sugar to save buying them over there.
