The building looks like it could need a fresh coat of paint from the outside but the interior is clean, well maintained and it looks new. I like the traditional Japanese feel in the building. The onsen is awesome. There ar..."e two baths for each sex; one on the inside and one on the outside pass the sliding doors. The baths are frequently maintained and I probably had too many baths when I was staying in Tachibanaya. We opted for the affordable western room with breakfast only plan. I am sure the Japanese room would be awesome as our western room was new and neat, especially the toilet. The breakfast had some 'new' items but we just sticked everything into our mouth with hopes that we could appreciate it. Tachibanaya needs to work on receiving non-English speaking guests, if they would like to do that.
