Had to visit Sorel over night. Stayed at the Auberge. Room was fine - king-size bed, clean, wi-fi that worked - but the surprise was the quality and variety of the meal served in the dining room. There was a choice among a number of a la carte items but the table d'hôtel was particularly appealing. Wine list varied and... More

We spent a bit more for a 4th floor room with a view of the marina; note that the first floor is the basement. The young lady who met us in reception for check in had the disposition of a cold fish. Not unpleasant, mind you; just an unsmiling and unwarm. The room and bath were clean, but the bedding... More

I don't know who gave the 4th star to this hotel but this is merely a 3-star hotel, at best. No pen or notepad in the room, amenities are very basic (and I had one of the best rooms, renovated, on the 4th floor and overlooking the parking lot and the marina). The bed seemed to be comfy, however, I... More

We stayed here in May and June. Both times we got a quiet, clean room and enjoyed view of the river. The staff is friendly and they all spoke English so that was a bonus! There is no breakfast included so it's a bit pricey for what it is but its a reliable place to stay.

Only stayed 1 night arriving fairly late. To follow up last review the 3 staff - front desk and bar could all speak excellent English, and switched automatically they knew you spoke English. Unlike France everyone i spoke with in my visit spoke very good English. Outlook onto river superb - 1 ft of snow maybe made it nicer than... More

The Auberge is a nice enough place. With our river view on the 4th floor there was lots to see and ships to watch. Check in was a surprise in that the staff does not speak English, at all! My wife is from Sorel and we were there on a business/family reunion trip so I was looked after, but that... More

Having stayed at this hotel for the past 5 years with a theater night included, all 4 of us were thoroughly disappointed this time with the supposed 'gourmet dinner' served that evening. 2 of us had to return their meals because the duck confit was confit only in name ! The 3rd person was served a mahi-mahi that was certainly... More

We were travelling up north with my girlfriend. We really like to go off the highway and St Laurent propose a great experience at that level. We did pay extra to get a view on the river. But it doesn't worth the extra money. You can see the river accross the parking and the marina. I have better view for... More

Investigating the shores of the St. Lawrence we ended up in Sorel. The desk staff was impatient with our limited French and offered little regarding Hotel information. As stated by other reviewers, there is nothing in the rooms as far as Hotel information; facility lay out, local restaurants, etc. The only available room was Not the deluxe river facing accommodation... Clean room and we had a nice view of the river. We had a banquet function and everything was awesome, from the food to the servicing. We would definitely return, even if it is just for a getaway weekend!
