I wish our brief one-night stay at Laguna Garzon Lodge could have been extended by two weeks! My boyfriend and I typically stay in guesthouses, but we decided to splurge for the last night of our trip to Argentina and Uruguay. I could not imagine a better place to stay to end our trip. We visited in March, and the... More

Really beautiful setting and the floating houses are charming and well equipped. Very quiet. Unfortunately nobody informs you that you have to use a ferry to get there which closes at 10 p.m. Also no information that due to the construction of the bridge nearby the view is not quite as romantic as the photos suggest and that you have... Laguna Garzon is great for body and soul, as well as for your heart. We spent a few wonderful days in this remarkable hotel. The birds, the lagoon, the beach, everything is wonderful. And out of the blue came a lovely stray-dog. He followed us on an long trip on the beach. We baptiese him Dolce Garçon. In this lovely... More

We stayed here for just one night in November and it was memorable. The place is beautiful, really quite exceptional, and being able to sleep comfortably on a raft with the waters of the lagoon lapping at your feet is something we will never forget. The lagoon exudes peace and calm and a gentle kayak ride was lovely. And yet... More

If you really want to have a relaxing experience, getting asleep with the sound of the roaring sound of the ocean waves, seeing the sunset with the birds on the lagoon, and just cross the road to be at the beach, with probably one or two more people, thatis the place to go ! And don't ask for a tvset... More

Originally only staying there for one night we extended our stay three times to a full 9 days. We loved every minute. It really brought us down from our hectic lifestyle at home and back to nature. Even though the place has its dificulties with nature at times (thunderstorms, poweroutage with loss of internet connectivity , floods and draughts) the... More

This property is secluded and very remote. It is reached by ferry across a lagoon and is 8km from the nearest habitation of Jose Ignacio. As two single women travelers, we had booked a twin room, but the only room available was a double bed. Despite the fact that the website told us there was a restaurant, this has now... More

Last year, my daughter gave us, as our 30th anniversary present, a weekend at the floating Hotel “Laguna Garzón” in Maldonado, Uruguay. Unfortunately, we were not able to make use of her present even after two tries for the following reasons: First try: After having confirmed our check in date and about an hour before beginning our trip from Montevideo... Best holidays ever. Total rest and enjoyment. Very comfortable log cabins floating over the lake, greatest view and peaceful natural environment. Just bring your book, beachwear and relax :) Ideal for lovers of water sports as well as fishing, or just for relaxation. Only a few miles away from Punta del Este. Rodrigo and Ana are the hosts for the... More
