We did 2 day, 1 night trip. The Lodge and food exceeded my expectations. We almost splurged for the Pacuare Lodge (3X the cost), which looked really nice when we passed it. However I think this was an even nicer setting with a cool creek running through the middle and a private bridge and trail across the river. Get the... More

We stayed there for two nights, hiking up to the indigenous village on the second day. It was definitely worth the difficult hike, and we even got to the speak to one of the locals while we were there.

We stayed there for one night at a two day river rafting, it was in the middle of the river rafting. Very welcoming place, the atmosphere is extraordinary, all the staff prepared the meals, including the rafting guides, and you can fill like a big family. The view from the lodge and the cabins is like paradise. You need to... More

While traveling in Costa Rica with my family this summer, we had to edit our itinerary thanks to super heavy rains on the Caribbean side of the country. We are so lucky to have connected with the amazing team at Rios Tropicales! We spent one night here (with kids ages 4 and 8) and it was an experience of a... More

Absolutely amazing! The overnight trip was the highlight of our 10 days in Coasta Rica. Read all the reviews, they are spot on. Great guides, fantastic white water, safe equipment, good food, and very cool Eco Lodge. I traveled in a party of 4 women. 2 teens and two 40+ moms, we aren't especially athletic or experienced, but with our... More

If you are looking for a fun, peaceful, romatic, meditative, exciting, relaxing, full of nature trip, Rios Tropicales is all that and more. My husband and I had the best time there. The staff was helpful, knowledgeable, engaging, fun, and just plain nice. We plan to go back there again and again.

The white water rafting down the Pacuare River is a well known highlight of a trip to Costa Rica. However many people do this trip as a one day event and miss out on the special opportunity to spend a night or two at Rios Tropical Lodge. The lodge is a true gem in the jungle-- simple but elegant. We... More
