The first time we visited the hotel was around 2002 and it was at that time worth associating with a Grand hotel. In August 2015 the word "deplorable" fits almost everywhere: the building is almost a ruin, rooms are unwelcoming, bathroom accessories do not work, the reception disappoints. A great location and the tradition would deserve better, but it feels... More

Needed a place to stay near the metro and this was perfect for the cheap price for the night at the very last minute >_<. The place is very antique, and the floors creak at night. The bed was standard but perfect for weary travelers. The view in the back was extremely gorgeous!

It is a gorgeous hotel, fantastic location, beautiful rooms. It is an historical hotel and building. The king of Sweden used to stay here, long time ago. It was built in 1863 Huge hotel, very big and with a lot of charm. The woman in the reception is very friendly and do the best she can, to make the guests... More

A great hotel with great potential that is let down by lack of staff and no care. The good: It is GRAND, it is beautiful, it is somewhat tired as all great hotels. The location is fantastic! The Bad: Where to start?! The staff have no clue what they are doing. I stayed here in the beginning of June 2015... More

I've stayed in and around Stockholm many times over the last 20years and was always curious about this old hotel, if a little put off my the mixed reviews. Having just returned from the best long weekend here I have to question how high were the expectations of those posting such damning reviews. It is an old hotel and at... More

We visited this area for a family reason, and we choose this accommodation because of its history. At one time this hotel and the building, the staff, the grounds were amazing and the owner took pride in this property. We were very disappointed. It was apparent that housekeeping staff was minimal, amenities, and cleanliness of the rooms was stretched so... More

We stayed at the hotel for a romantic weekend getaway and fell in love with the hotel and the surrounding nature. There are great walking paths around the hotel that we really enjoyed. We stayed in a seaview room that was lovely just like on the pictures. The staff was warm and friendly and made us feel like home.

The hotel was built in late 1800s, and is an imposing cremecoloured castlelike building facing a beautiful bay on the way out into the archipelago. The place has seen better days, the fabrics are faded, numerous small items in the rooms broken and the roomfurniture outdated. All that may well have it's charm, but when you add the insufficient number... More

Since our family is located in different countries and cities, we decided to meet in Saltsjöbaden to celebrate our Mother and Grandmothers 90th birthday. During the whole stay we were totally happy and satisfied. Nice rooms with a great view, very nice breakfast and most important, the birthday dinner. After a glass of Champagne in the library, we were shown... More

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Saltsjöbaden on our wedding night in June and it was magical. Caroline in reception was so friendly and helpful. The rooms have a sophisticated grandeur to them, but still feel warm and welcoming. Our suite was, of course, clean to impeccable standards, wonderfully decorated and supremely comfortable, with spectacular views of the bay. Breakfast... More
