We can only comment on the pub and restaurant experience which was a pleasant experience. The pub is cosy and friendly and food served is good and the pizzas are excellent. Husband says there is a good selection of beers. Great for families and couples and the restaurant is large and modern rustic. Chulmleigh is very lucky to have a... More

So happy to find somewhere that could accommodate us and our 2 dogs for an overnight stay as a birthday surprise for my partner! Helped in every way possible...dog water bowl and biscuits in our room too! Comfortable bed, large room, spacious bathroom. Could only give 4 stars due to the following things. The curtains didn't cover the whole window...granted... More

Thank you for your review. I am glad that both you and the dogs enjoyed your stay with us and that you found the service outstanding. I will certainly ensure that the toilet roll holder and the wobbly shower shelf are addressed. I hope that you and the dogs will visit us again - you will always be certain of... More

On arrival on Sunday evening we were told that a number of menu items were not available. Fish of the day was available and on enquiring, the waitress said it was usually salmon and indeed it was. So hardly 'fish of the day! When served it looked as if it had been thrown on the plate and came with carrots... More

I am very sorry to hear about the problems with your meal. I can only apologise. On the night in question due to staff sickness we only had one new young Chef on duty who was offering a basic menu. We did have other fish available so I am not sure why the waitress told you that we only had... More

Thank you for taking the time to post a review and I am sorry that we fell short in a few areas. After reading about the bed in room 4 I have immediately rectified the situation and purchased a new bed. I have also spoken to our cellar man about the noise early in the morning which disturbed you. The... More

Staying close to Chulmleigh and this was recommended to us for its pizza's. We ate in the restaurant , really friendly staff and great menu to choose from. The pizza's are great and the homemade burgers and chips are the best!

We booked two double rooms for friends and ourselves when we went to a party in the village. On arrival we were taken to our rooms - very acceptable. Whilst at the party our friend's room was changed for some reason and their belongings moved there by the hotel staff. On returning the new room also looked very acceptable. We... More

I am sorry that you experienced disturbance during your stay with us. I note that when you requested that the music was turned down there was an immediate response from the staff to rectify the situation. Your stay coincided with the visit late at night by a returning local stag group - something which we had not been notified about... More

Stayed for one night to attend a wedding. Had a lovely room with four poster bed. Large en suite beautifully decorated. Tea making facilities and Large flat screen tv. Breakfast was included and delicious. Village was quaint and we had a little walk around in the morning before departure.

We stopped here to stay over for a wedding reception in Eggesford. When we checked in we were told that the room was actually located in their sister pub The Globe, which was a short walk away. Immediately alarm bells started ringing but I needn't have worried as the Globe is in a very picturesque part of the village and... More

on driving into the village, I was not quite sure what to expect from this establishment. There is a small car-park and a back entrance through the beer garden into the bar area. Very efficient member of staff checked me in and showed me around. The room itself was very well decorated and looked clean and modern. The en-suite was... More
