My wife, two young children and I stayed here for one night in August 2014. We required bed and breakfast accommodation after attending a wedding reception locally. Chumleigh is a beautiful remote Devonshire village, which appears to have retained much of what I regard as being a defining part of the British identity, and at the heart of this is... More

I can only comment on the meal we had in the pub as we were not guests in the hotel. We tried to book a meal at the sister pub The Red Lion but as it was full they suggested the newly opened Globe. To our surprise on a Friday night at 8.40 pm the place was virtually empty (I'm... More

booked to stay at sister hotel the red lion but told on arrival that their system only had it down as room for 2 when we'd booked and produced confirmation that we were a 3 so moved across to the globe. Yes its a pub but weekend noise levels are as loud as being in the bar so don't expect... More

We ended up here quite unexpectedly after ringing our daughter back home in Norfolk and begging her to find an alternative to the nightmare Tipi that we'd thought was a good idea... Our daughter was sold on the online photo of one of the rooms and we were so grateful there was availability when we needed it. The lady I... More

This Hotel is good on another level. The sheer quality beggars belief. Second only (just) to the Mal Maison in Belfast, which is 4 times the price…! Chic and comfortable, I hope the owners are glowing with pride, they deserve to be…! See you very soon and thank you. Neil and Sal

In March I held a birthday dinner party at the Globe. The venue is nicely laid out and beautifully decorated. The staff were extremely welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. Serving a 3 course meal for 34 people, two of which were hot, they managed very well and I certainly had no complaints and would recommend as a lovely... More

My partner and I stayed at The Globe Inn for a weekend before Christmas and thought it was charming. The rooms are decorated beautifully and we very comfortable and warm. We had lovely breakfast there and thought the wine list was great. Also a nice place to sample some of the local ales which we found very interesting. We found... More

We stayed in the Globe in at the end of last summer and it was wonderful. We had seen photos of it on the website but when we arrived it really came alive. The colours and the decor are gorgeous. Really rich, warm colours that compliment the open fire, cosy couches and dark wood furniture. We stayed in one of... More

Recently nicely refurbished to an excellent standard the hotel rooms were comfortable except there is NO clothes hanging space at all except behind the bedroom door. The bar was contemporary with a welcoming log fire and friendly staff trying to please. The restaurant was a different matter and straight out of Fawlty Towers. The menu as shown on the web... More
