I booked a double room as a last minute deal, it's a great hotel in a beautiful location,no traffic noise. good value and fantastic food, we will be staying there again and it's definitely worth booking the treehouse out the back!

We were looking for somewhere special for a birthday weekend, that would appeal to adults but be fun for children, too, and we can't imagine anything that would have fitted the bill better. Close to the hotel (and its friendly, helpful staff) but not overlooked, the treehouse has everything required for a truly luxurious break, with endless thoughtful little touches,... More

We spent our honeymoon in the fabulous treehouse, which despite the weather, was cosy, warm and comfortable. The bathroom, log fire and balcony are the best features. Don't get too excited about the BBQ and be aware the treehouse is right next to the scenic train line. In practice it isn't too noisy nor is the treehouse particularly overlooked. The... More

Perfect luxury treehouse experience had by all . The treehouse has everything you need and more . We loved sitting out on the balcony eating and drinking, taking in the 250 year old tree surrounding us and the squirrels , bats , and owl . Soaking in the copper bath was amazing , and creates so many bubbles!! . There... More

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with our 11yr old son, labrador & border collie. We booked a superior room for the extra space and took our mountain bikes. The room could not be faulted & the bathroom was luxurious. Our four legged friends were genuinely welcomed, a dog towel was provided by the door and they could... More

Overall a nice stay. We had a good time. The hotel is fine with children and dogs staying. Facilities are good with an excellent breakfast to start the day and lovely housekeeper who keeps the whole place spotless. The only unfortunate incident was when I tried to book a table for an early evening dinner, 6.00pm, as we have young... More

I am glad you had a great stay with us and thank you for reminding us that we need to be more flexible with families as our policy is always to accommodate early dining as best we can. The team here have all been reminded so in future there would not be a similar issue but I am glad in... More

If you want to hide away from the world, this is the place tobe. Only spent 2 nights there and most areas were adequate. Severe shortage of staff made the breakfast and dinner times take forever. Just 3 staff covered the kitchen, table waiting and the bar. We could get everything but had to ask for it, then wait. Hardly... More

Thank you for taking the time to leave some kind words for us and I am glad you enjoyed your stay. We are a dog friendly hotel so pets are permitted in most of the public areas and rooms apart from the dining room and I am sorry if that is not clear from our website. Our food is all... More

My husband and I stayed in the treehouse for our wedding anniversary. We are a young couple (25 and 28) and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The whole experience was great, we just wished we could have stayed longer. Food in restaurant was stunning , my husband had a steak with bone marrow which he had never tried before and he... More

We stayed at the Fox and Hound on the 24th August to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, we enjoyed it so much we have booked next year already in the tree house. The food was amazing, the hotel setting breath taking, and the staff made you feel welcome and went over and above to ensure we enjoyed our stay. I... More

My family and I spent the August bank holiday weekend in this amazing treehouse. Looking out through the branches of the wonderful old oak was magical. We felt like Roald Dahl's Minpins. The treehouse is really comfortable and we found the hotel team very helpful and welcoming. We walked and cycled locally, used the barbeque, watched the flames in our... More

I have to agree the treehouse offers something totally unique, and it is great to see you made the most of it's amenities whilst still exploring the beauty and variety North Devon offers. We would be delighted to have you back. More
