We stayed here for one night (but wish it had been for more) for a family wedding which was exquisite. The staff, venue, food, drink and the exceptional on site hair dresser were all excellent. A perfect venue for a happy wedding day in stunning extensive grounds. Thanks for having us and helping the day stay in our memories.

We recently stayed here for a friends wedding. In the most part this hotel was 'ok', in fantastic surroundings, close to a train station, plenty of parking, good food and 'some' amazing staff - who really went out or their way for us. However, we were very disappointed with the lady who 'greeted' us at the desk. Our room was... More

This is a great hotel; lovely grounds, comfortable rooms and nicely cooked breakfast. Real strength to me though was the staff, who were personable and helpful. We did have a major problem on the first night as our room was very close to the area where a wedding reception was taking place and the noise was really bad and prevented... More

Spent a night there with dinner. The room was spotless with two double beds a lounge area at the end with French doors onto the lawn. Lovely bathroom & shower. The three course meal was excellent with a good choice although there was a supplement for certain items. Our deal included two glasses of bubbly which I thought was a... More

I've been staying in Devon a while now and have come across a few spectacular places. This is one! Lovely food, enjoyable area and comfortable atmosphere. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, nice family place to stay.

We stayed in the treehouse for a couple of nights and it surpassed our expectations. We didn't realise that it came with our own little garden area and BBQ. It was like having our own private campsite. Amazing. The treehouse balcony also had an outside heater. We didn't want to leave and I would recommend the treehouse to anyone. If... More

We stayed as a family of 4 in the newly created Treehouse in the grounds of the Fox and Hounds Hotel. Having seen the pictures on the hotel website we were ready to be impressed but reality was even better. This is extremely well designed and built with a fully fitted kitchen (Cooker, Dish Washer Fridge etc) a great bathroom... More

Everything was great about the hotel - from the super food, reasonably priced wines and helpful staff, to the lovely room with large patio. Walkers - beware though of using the hotel-provided walks without seriously checking an OS map! We attempted Walk 7, which was meant to be 2'5 miles and due to now non existent footpaths (the maps are... More
