We have often been to L'Escale restaurant and have always found it good value for money, good honest fare with no pretensions. On this occasion I had a dozen escargots to start and they were superb. My husband had canard salad and much enjoyed it. For once I felt like a change and had jambon with madere sauce (sadly with... More

I have visited this hotel on many occasions and hope to again. Its convenient, comfortable, friendly and its nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room - not something you often find in France. All in all a very nice get-away from it all near the sea, or for a quick stop-over en route to further afield.

Another 2 nights spent here. Again the room was excellent the Restaurant across the road served very good traditional French food,. We will only stay here when travelling through Calais ( 12 minutes away by car) The village Escale is picturesque, quiet and near a beach.

This charming hotel-restaurant is in an unspoilt gem of France just 5 miles from the Channel Tunnel. Millions must drive pass as we did en (Auto-)Route to the South. The hotel rooms are clean, comfortable and ours now had a kettle and tea & coffee. The breakfasts are excellent - you will genuinely need very little for lunch after the... More

We gave recently returned from visiting the hotel L,Escalle spending one night in room 41 a delightly room with superb bathroom and delightful decor. The restaurant is just opposite and we were surprised to see so many people in the restaurant considering that this hotel is not exactly in the hub of populace, the staff were certainly on their mettle this... Our family has been coming here for over 30 years and on this trip we brought a friend who also fell in love with it. Over time there has been improvements, modernisations and new build and this time was no different. The room now has a kettle with tea and coffee so you can have a drink before going over... More

We have stayed at the Hotel at least two or three times a year for the last ten years and always had the warmest of greetings and given the best hospitality. The rooms are very comfortable and the setting is very peaceful. The restaurant consistently provides the best of French cuisine and service. The hotel is a great place to... More

We had a small room in a modern annex. Adequate breakfast. Good for a single overnight stay. Don't forget to ask for the Wifi access codes; it's complicated. The eponymous restaurant, just across the road, is operated as a separate enterprise, i.e. the hotel reserves your table, but you pay for your meal in the restaurant. It offers good food,... More

We have stayed here on two previous occasions and eaten in the restaurant 12 times including my mother's 90th birthday. Been going there for over 20 years. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and just wanted a nice meal and comfortable room. It was all that we expected and so relaxing. Very welcoming staff.

Welcoming, warm, convivial, so many adjectives but none sufficient to really describe how wonderful a stay at this hotel and dining in the associated restaurant actually is. We have stayed here several times and it is consistently good. the staff have a way of making you fell special even when you area ware that other clients are being treated the... More
