We have stayed at l'Escale before and by choosing it again says that we like it, the area is interesting and of course near the Channel Tunnel, easy to get to from the UK. We have used it before travelling to and from France, as have friends of ours, on our recommendation

We have just returned from three nights at this hotel. The room was quite small but very clean with a shower room with wash basin and a separate toilet. Again both very small but adequate. The actual shower was excellent with loads of hot water. The bed was large and comfortable. There are exterior shutters on the windows that work... More

The hotel L’Escale has been our first stop on our annual French holiday for many years and has never disappointed. The original rooms in the building opposite reception are comfortable and well appointed but older in style. The new rooms in the courtyard cost a little more and are more modern and very well-equipped with excellent reversible aircon, which cools... More

This is a great spot that I have been going to for years now. The food is simple, fresh and local. The rooms are quite 80's (which for some may be a plus!) comfortable and quiet. This is such a great place to stay if you want to nip over from the UK and within 15 minutes be in very... More

We have stayed at L'Escale Hotel several times, unfortunately not as many times as we would have liked. It is a homely very friendly establishment with a great feeling of comfort with very relaxing surroundings. The breakfast arrangements are superb with a large variety of produce to choose from as well as the usual fresh bread and croissants. The restaurant... More

We have often been to L'Escale restaurant and have always found it good value for money, good honest fare with no pretensions. On this occasion I had a dozen escargots to start and they were superb. My husband had canard salad and much enjoyed it. For once I felt like a change and had jambon with madere sauce (sadly with... More

I have visited this hotel on many occasions and hope to again. Its convenient, comfortable, friendly and its nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room - not something you often find in France. All in all a very nice get-away from it all near the sea, or for a quick stop-over en route to further afield.

Another 2 nights spent here. Again the room was excellent the Restaurant across the road served very good traditional French food,. We will only stay here when travelling through Calais ( 12 minutes away by car) The village Escale is picturesque, quiet and near a beach.

This charming hotel-restaurant is in an unspoilt gem of France just 5 miles from the Channel Tunnel. Millions must drive pass as we did en (Auto-)Route to the South. The hotel rooms are clean, comfortable and ours now had a kettle and tea & coffee. The breakfasts are excellent - you will genuinely need very little for lunch after the... More

We gave recently returned from visiting the hotel L,Escalle spending one night in room 41 a delightly room with superb bathroom and delightful decor. The restaurant is just opposite and we were surprised to see so many people in the restaurant considering that this hotel is not exactly in the hub of populace, the staff were certainly on their mettle this...
