We have just had the most wonderful visit to Le Chardon. Having booked on spec after a recommendation from another local hotel, we arrived late and rather road weary to a wonderful warm welcome. The rooms were clean and simply furnished, and, as we were to find out, with very comfortable beds. We ate in the restaurant and had a... More

Arriving at Le Chardon our first impression was very pleasing . Surrounded by rolling vine covered hills and traditional french homes. We parked easily in the car park directly opposite our accomadation how lucky were we. Our hosts had seen us arrive and welcomed us at the door . We were assisted to our room and invited to have a drink... More

We have visited Le Chardon previously, and have spoken highly of Rebecca and Nick to our friends. This time the friends came too! We pre-booked all four rooms plus dinner, and arrived on a sunny September afternoon to a warm welcome and a few glasses of wine before going for a walk with Rebecca and the dogs up the hills... We needed a place to sleep for our journey to the south of France. This is a fine place for a stopover. Fortunately we could arrive around midnight on Saturday. The hotel is situated in a tiny village about 10 minutes drive from the highway. You can park without charge in front of the hotel, which is convenient when you... More

When traveling from Paris to the coast and then when moving back, my wife and I like to split the journey in two, more often than not staying at guest house in the wine region of the Rhone valley. More often than not, almost always now, our choice is guided by the Tripadvisor's travelers comment.. As usual they brought us... More

A great place to stop, there is a warm welcome awaiting you! Rooms are large and airy, food was excellent and well presented and served with a smile with everyone made to feel part of the family. AND the local wine is highly recommended - pure Chardonnay! Nick and Rebecca are excellent hosts.

We have just stayed at Le Chardon and would thoroughly recommend it. We broke the drive to Nice from Calais by staying for one night at the beginning and one night at the end of our holiday. Rebecca, Nick & Sophie were really welcoming and very hospitable. We are keen cyclists and Nick provided a map and suggestions for local... More

My wife and I have just returned from a 3-night visit to Chardonnay, where we stayed at Le Chardon with my parents, who have stayed several times before. We were a little trepidatious staying at a hotel owned by a couple of ex pats, but we need not have worried. Nick and Rebecca made us feel so welcome, it truly was... More

I can only echo what the others have said about Nick and Rebecca's wonderful hospitality and lovely guesthouse in the heart of southern Burgundy. A great location for exploring all of Burgundy, especially to find some wonderful values in the Mâconnais. They welcomed us and our young dog with open arms, and even took time to take us on a...
