Excellent stay with easy access to Keswick and Grasmere by car. Staff very helpful and friendly. Buffet Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of choice each morning. You are set in the country with modern facilities and free parking which is a bonus in the Lakes!

This place may not be the cheapest. But in the price unlike others. You have free breakfast, free parking, free wifi, free drying room and not to forget a super friendly service. The views around are just beautiful! The room was pretty large for us! We had a double and a single bed for the 2 of us. There is... More

Travelling with friends, there were 2 to a room, we had a double and single bed but unfortunately my travel partner became unwell, so I was stuck with the single. The only downfall was that I am very tall and my feet dangled over the edge, but still quite comfy. The room was very hot but the ability to turn... More

Thank you for your review Andrew, I'm glad you've enjoyed the location and picturesque surroundings, it's certainly a great spot if you're into photography. While the hotel is situated not far from the main road (added convenience!) and you can hear some traffic noise during the day, the road gets very quiet towards the evening, so hopefully it didn't disturb... We are a young couple and this out our second time visiting the lodge :) we would definitely recommend it for a short stay !! The location - The lodge is perfectly situated between Keswick and Grassmere. It is a very quiet area and we were not disturbed by traffic outside once. Food- Breakfast in the morning was lovely :)... More

Booked lodge in the vale following previous good reviews and price (£88 for one night - Friday of bank holiday). Truthfully, we just needed somewhere fairly basic so we were close to where we had plans the following day - we totally made the right choice. The rooms are basic but have everything you need & the coffee & shampoo... More

Thank you for your review, I'm glad to hear you had a great stay with us. Being only a small hotel, we don't have a 24h reception service, however there is always a manager on site whom you can call in case of any problems. We are very proud of our great continental breakfast and I'm glad to hear you've... More

This was our second stay at The Lodge in the Vale, and we weren't disappointed. As a family of five, including three small children, we find that this accommodation always meets our needs. The family room (which is also completely accessible, useful as I am also a wheelchair user) is large, bright and clean. My older children love the bunkbeds!... More

Found this lodge on groupon 3 nights for 2 people £99 Bargain!!! Had a lovely 3 night break here with my boyfriend in December 2014. Got a bus from the train station which took about 30mins and it dropped us off on the main road about a 5 min walk from the lodge. The roads are narrow winding with no... More

Hello and congratulations :) It's great to hear you had a lovely stay with us - the hotel is certainly in quite a remote location if you don't drive and I'm glad you got here safe (while here at the hotel we are all used to the dark, winding roads of the Lakes, I appreciate no everyone is!). Definitely keep... More

A very different break for us it was a gift as we chose reasonably busy cities/towns/resorts to visit. Anyway this is a great base to use to visit anywhere in the Lakes by car or for ramblers. Wifi is hit and miss a little. The Kings Head is a decent bar with friendly staff but with1 sausage in a basket... More

Hello and thank you very much for your feedback, I'm really glad you've had an enjoyable stay with us. I'm sorry if the internet connection wasn't great in your room, this is something we are working on, but unfortunately the internet in rural areas of the Lake District can be a little slow at times... I will certainly pass on... More

Stayed for 2 nights and all was very good. The rooms and hotel in general very clean, modern and well looked after. The staff were friendly and helpful and although I am not a fan of continental breakfasts it was good with plenty of choice. All in all a very pleasant stay and one which I would recommend as an... Comfortable enough with a very good selection for Continental breakfast, Warning, if you have the first cup of tea at breakfast from the large dispenser it comes out with a odd gelatinous consistency. Staff are welcoming and helpful. Our room was not cleaned properly throughout our 3 day stay. The towels were not changed, the bathroom/shower was not cleaned and... More

Dear Colin, Thank you for your honest feedback. We are continuously working on improving the service we provide to our guests and you raise valid points which have been taken on board.
