We stayed a few nights in Chalet #2 in the Mirabell Chalets in March 2015. We had stayed at Mirabell previously, two years earlier. We enjoyed the somewhat unusual and funky nature of Mirabell a lot. The many fruit trees on the property, offering apples, plums and peaches among other things, are a great feature (in the right season of... More

Driving around South Island for the first time in years we naively thought it wouldn't be busy. Thank goodness we booked to stay here, it was a haven away from the camper vans and other, less peace loving, tourists. This place is the essence of a Kiwi holiday, a cosy (and extremely comfortable) cabin with everything you need to spend... More

We stayed here at the start of the Otago Rail Trail. We were dropped in Clyde by our shuttle and the owners were very happy to come and collect us from Clyde, once we were ready with the shopping. The chalets are set in lovely grounds and you are made to feel very welcome to "explore" these grounds. The chalet itself... More

We enjoyed our stay in the Mirabell Chalets as it is a very good accommodation close to the Otago Central Rail Trail. Some kilometers outside from Alexandra you definitively need a car to get there. The chalets are located on the road between Alexandra and Clyde. Three chalets are part of a beautiful farm. We had a very warm welcome... More

We had a wedding to attend in Clyde so Mirabell Chalets was ideally situated. The chalets are very well appointed and homely - to be honest, I was rather disappointed we were only staying the one night. I could have happily spent a week! The surroundings are very pleasant and it was peaceful and idyllic. As for the value, it... More

I booked over the internet and expected a holiday park with rows of chalets, but was very pleased there are only 3 chalets in the park-like grounds with lawns, fruit trees and an in-ground swimming pool. Wandering the grounds are chickens, Californian quail and rabbits. The chalet was modern and very clean. There is a free washing machine available for... More

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Mirabell Chalets. The Chalets are well appointed and have everything you may need for a short or long stay. Located half way between Alexandra and Clyde on an orchard setting of around 13 acres. Handy to start of Otago Rail Trail. It is peaceful and private and best of all it... More

Brilliant place, well equipped, right on the side of the Otago Rail Trail, 250metres away. The three well equipped chalets are perfect, especially if you've got your bike with you, lots of space outside to sit down, no real need to lock your bike up round here. There's ample cooking and BBQ facilities and the TV has many, many channels.... More

My friend and I stayed in the two bedroom chalet for two nights at the weekend and found it extremely warm and well appointed. It all looked very new with very comfortable beds. It was a perfect location for us as we visited friends in Clyde which is 5 minutes up the road and Alexandra is the same distance the... More

Just a short drive from alexandra and clyde. Lovely peaceful rural surroundings. The unit was a bit dated but spacious and good value for money. Very friendly host but over friendly chickens that were a novelty to start with but after a while became a bit annoying especially when we were trying to sit outside with drinks and nibbles of...
