The tourism office at Santa Helena recommended this hotel , it was perfect location 20mn from the Santa Helena Park (by car). It is a beautiful small hotel , style is like chalet, beautiful landscape in front and a trail behind the hotel, and great views . it was a clear day and we saw the Bay also The rooms... More

The family that owns the place are super friendly. And they make your free breakfast right there, that consists of 2 eggs, bread, fruit, and jelly. It was very good. But the room itself is extremely simple. Pretty much a bed, and a bathroom. So if that's all you're looking for then this is the place. They don't provide soap... More

My Partner and I just returned from a stay there May 29-30, 2015. There’s not much more I can say but to confirm what most people already have said. I will emphasize that the place is clean and comfortable with privacy. The service is great. The views are fantastic. We stayed a second night because it was worth it for... More

My wife and I stayed for two nights in May 2015. The room was simple but clean and comfortable, pretty much what I expected for the price. The cost included breakfast which was prepared by the owner, Vitalis and included fresh bread bought every morning at a local bakery and delicious jams, fresh fruit and eggs. Simple yet "rico". I... This hotel has an friendly, intimate feel, and as many have said, feels more like a B&B. The beds, while a little outdated, are cozy and clean, and the breakfast is phenomenal. Homemade to order every morning, eggs, fresh fruit, and delicious bread. The best breakfast we had in CR. And such friendly, welcoming owners with great recommendations! The hotel... More

The Sunset Hotel is a small, family run business with seven rustic rooms. They all have a private bathroom with hot water and there is a shared balcony to watch the great view. Breakfast is included and is served every morning from 7:30am to 10:30am. It consists of fruits, bread, eggs, butter, marmalade, coffee, tea, hot chocolate or milk (as... More

Friendly owner welcomed us. Seven rooms, with lounge/breakfast room. Simple breakfast - typically fresh fruit, eggs and baguette. Very clean. Five rooms overlook the Pacific, so get to see the sunset, but over the trees. 25-30 minutes walk from Santa Elena town centre, mostly downhill. Best to get taxi back ($3). Have to go into town for restaurants

The hotel is located away from the town proper. We've been told we could walk to town but we decided to call for a taxi - good decision because it's not an easy downhill path. The owner runs the place with help from his son and 1-2 gardeners/caretakers. It's quiet and there's a trail at the back of the hotel... More

The sunset view and the garden are fantastic. The hotel however is very, very poor. Reminds me of a hotel in former DDR. You can sleep and wash, that's it. The place is not clean, bathroom is a mess. Walk to the village is quite tough. Going back is up-hill. Can't understand the good rating.

My sister and I with three teens stayed here during peak Christmas season 2014 and was very happy with the accommodation that Mr Vitalis (owner) has given to us. It was a basic clean room with hot shower . The view was fantastic from our room . Quiet and and safe. Breakfast was okay. The hotel is 10 minutes taxi... More
