Hotel Poco a Poco in Monteverde, Costa Rica had some stunning views. I appreciate their commitment to being eco-friendly, however the barely luke warm shower in the morning was a bit unbearable for me. The service was average as well as the food. Monteverde itself offer amazing adventures though. I strongly recommend the jungle tour and rope bridges, the sky... More

On the positive side: The young man who works at the front desk is so accomadating, the views are amazing, the grounds are pretty, the public balconies are relaxing and the bathrooms are clean and nicely redone. Onto the negatives: There is no air conditioning and in August you really need one. I didn't even think to check on this.... More

We both enjoyed our stay at the Poco a Poco, superb setting and location, staff very friendly and helpful. Close to the town centre (walking distance) a supermarket is a few meters away also. The only downside is the eco-WC (you can't get rid of your toilet paper with the flush) and no freezer also. This is a minus point... More

One thing you'll find in Costa Rica if you travel about is that a good shower can be hard to find. They're usually lacking in either the hot water department or in pressure...or in both. The most memorable part of my stay at this hotel was my shower. It's probably the best shower I've ever had. The water pressure felt... More

Took my clients for an overnight visit and found the overall conditions lacking. Main Jacuzzi broken. Food ill-prepared and second rate. Staff showed total lack of interest about food complaints not only from me about my food but about the same from my clients and treated me with coldness from that point on. No hot water in my room in... More

Monteverde is a special place in Costa Rica...a special place on earth. A traveler to Costa Rica has missed something special when he has not visited Costa Rica....and a special place to stay is Hotel Poco a Poco. I am familiar with Poco a Poco and am amazed that Diego has continued to improve upon perfection. The gardens are a... More

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights during the last part of our honeymoon. It was a great place to relax from the jarring drive up the mountain.. There were nice surprises and things that made it instantly relaxing that I'll leave for you to discover.. Our king room was very clean and came with a... More

Went to Costa Rico in early May 2011. Poco Poco was the hotel we stayed at in Monteverde. It was centrally located with an easy walk to town. The restaurant, not great but OK. The pool was fabulous even though I am not a big pool fan. This is the beginning of rainy season so we had the place to... More

I am currently staying at poco a poco in spite of bad reviews on Trip Advisor. I would suggest your 2008 reviews heading the page are definitely outdated. I have been genuinely surprised and delighted by the luxury, service, attention to detail, the friendliness of the staff and above all the cleanliness of the rooms, etc. Additions have been made... No privacy possible in room #46 : curtains needs to be drawn anytime. Impossible to open windows leading to a stuffy feeling with no possibility for fresh air to circulate and NO A/C. Huge tacky concrete animals in the garden. Ridiculously small low lying closet and hangers. Paper thin walls leading you to hear all surrounding guests activities. All. The... More
