First I'm a bit confused about this eco friendly braggadocio this place throws around, didn't really appear that way to me with all the wasted energy on appliances and the use of modern materials. Anyway this place is next to a very busy steep road and you will hear trucks and motorbikes revving their engines to climb it all through... More

We stayed at Hotel Poco a Poco for two nights on our Costa Rica trip. I definitely think this hotel is one of your best bets in Monteverde. The hotel is walking distance from the town area (which is very small) and had a really good restaurant and accomodations at the hotel. The room was pretty small, but very clean... More

We arrived yesterday into San Jose airport. After a ride of about 3 1/2 hours we reached Poco a Poco. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel grounds are lovely. The room rate, including breakfast, is good. The room was clean and the bathroom large. The only improvement needed is better storage space for clothes and suitcases. The hotel... More

Our room was #27, near the road. It sounded like there was a dance-club nearby. Loud music and someone talking on the microphone could be heard until 9pm or so. Our room smelled really musty and did not have air conditioning, though that is normal for Santa Elena from what I can tell. You have to pay to use the... More

Monteverde is a wonderful place and Poco a Poco Hotel is so beautiful, I found there to many facilities, although it is a little place, I got all I wanted, the service and attention was excellent, the place was strategic located and easy to be in the budget, the food delicious, but the most I loved was the clime, it... This hotel seemed pretentious. Towels and toilet paper were "fancied" in the shape of fans, but the shower did not look clean and showed mold. There was no standard size closet or hooks to hang clothes. The room (24) we had was noisy because it was close to the restaurant and road. It was a handicapped accessible room, which was... More

Nice looking hotel on a bit of a cliff overlooking the valley. When we arrived we had a misfortune of getting a room with a broken window in the bathroom. once we turned on the light, it was all that insects needed and they made our bathroom their home, until we called front desk. As they did not have another... More

The room was clean and it had a good shower. We ate dinner at the hotel and it was very good. Breakfast was average. The staff provided great tips on tours and they were very friendly and helpful. Downside: The hotel sits right on the road so the traffic noise was quite loud. If you do not have a car,... More
