I was here about 2 weeks ago on my trip with Gate One to Costa Rica. This was by far my favorite hotel during the trip. I love how the hotel is VERY environmentally friendly. My bathroom was ultra impressive...HUGE glass-encased shower, large sink, immaculate. The table and chairs outside the room were very cute as well. I was thoroughly... More

Lage sized rooms, king beds, excellent restaurant with varied menu and very reasonable prices. Large breakfast and beaut fresh fruit. Pool undercovered as was the large hot spa which was very welcome after a days tourinjg in the mountains. Staff friendly and English speaking. My girlfriend and I spent 1 night here - We had been at hostel / B&B type locations for about a week in Monteverde and wanted to get a taste of the good life for a night before we drove for the Pacific Coast. We were greeted by a wonderful front desk associate who gave us a delicious glass of... More

The rooms were very noisy; and initially the pillows smelled of sweat and had to ask it to be changed. It is close to Santa Elena town for what it is worth. But the staff were super friendly. Restaurant not particularly great but then no one goes there for the food!

Hello Duskyman, thank you for your comments. We have to be very careful with humidity in our rooms. Hotels located in Monteverde have to work much more on this situation due to the fact that there is not Air Conditioning in the rooms. When guests visit other parts of the country or other tropical latitudes, they find facilities with A/C,... More

The property itself is average. Our room was spacious with a charming view. We had a lower level corner room by the gardens near the fountain. Our view was great and overlooked the valley and gardens. Internet never really worked. The staff onsite were very friendly. Rather disappointed in the restaurant. Seemed over priced. The breakfast buffet was very limited.... More

Dear Colins. Thank you for your comments, we wish we could be way above average, yet you are right we still have to work on certain things to become better. The staff at Poco a Poco were very nice, but it hardly made up for the dark and dingy "motel" rooms. Even when we moved to an upgraded rooms (with views of the restaurant roof), the rooms were disappointing.

Hello Mrs/ Miss Alison, on behalf of our staff, thank you for letting us know we are doing a good job. I´m very sorry our accommodations did not meet your expectations, Our quetzal rooms are the best on the house, they are located on 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors, and also on the garden area. The hotel is ok, i think is overpriced for what it really is. Pros: the service is great, people is super friendly and make you feel at home. Food at the restaurant is very good and the massages at the spa are fantastic. It is located close to downtown but this same location makes it very noisy. Cons: It is... More

Greetings Ima, I´m very sorry to find out you had a hard time during your stay due to this situation. This is a nice place to stay. Comfortable beds clean bathrooms. Good Atmosphere. It is walking distance to main town. They have flat screen TV and you can borrow DVD's for free. Activities we did include Coffee tour, and Zip Lining in the cloud forest.

During our visit to Costa Rica, we found ourselves in the Cloud Forest of Monteverde; here we stayed at hotel Poco a Poco (little by little). Monteverde’s weather was so different from the rest of Costa Rica! Here AC was not needed or available in the rooms due to the cooler climate. The winds can really gust up here and... More

Location was very close to the center of the town, close to shops and restaurants. It is a 4-star boutique hotel and it has beautifully kept grounds (like all the hotels we stayed in Costa Rica). We were there the night Costa Rica won against Greece in the FIFA World Cup and the enthusiasm and energy was contagious. Everybody was... More
