This Hotel was a terrible disappointment and the worst of five hotels we visited on our honeymoon. We attempted to leave after the first night, but the owner refused to refund our second night, despite multiple bug bites appearing on my arms overnight. The Monteverde / Santa Elena area is quite remote and lacking many tourist-y comforts. In this realm, Claro de Luna is a nice hotel in a nice setting. The location is close enough to walk the center of town (and all of its restaurants, shops, and tour offices) but also far enough away to avoid being mired in the hustle.... more

I stayed two nights here while on a tour with GAP Adventures. The rooms were very comfortable, the view from the balcony was great and the location was close enough to downtown Santa Elena to get their quickly, but quiet. more
