My fiance and I recently had the pleasure of staying at La Colina Lodge in Monteverde and we can't wait to return some day! The location is removed from the noise of Santa Elena, which we appreciated. The staff were very friendly and helpful with setting up activities, calling taxis, etc; thanks Greg and Nancy for your good vibes! We... More

My husband, 2 daughters (ages 11 and 9) and I stayed here for 3 nights. I'd stayed at La Colina's previous incarnation (Pension Flor Mar) in 1998 as a solo traveler and was curious to see how the place had changed. Although it's changed considerably, it's warmth and charm remain. Our family enjoyed our clean, simply decorated room(s) which included... More

We had a lovely stay here. Clean rooms, good value for the money and good location. Very helpful, friendly and accommodating staff. We were traveling with our 9 month old son and they gave us the biggest room for more comfort. They even served breakfast a little earlier for us so we could make it on time for our guided... More

We stayed at La Colina Lodge for a wonderful weekend trip. We were immediately met with smiles and hospitality. The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable. Everyone who works there makes you feel like a friend and not a paying client. Nancy is a great host with exceptional conversational skills. The breakfast chef is jovial and makes incredible food. 2 wonderful nights in late March with our 6 year old daughter. Greg took wonderful care of us, making us feel right at home. Wonderful value rustic lodge, great breakfasts. Made friends with Larry-Anne the turkey, the chickens, guinea fowls, many dogs & cats, watching the local cows walk by while lounging in the front porch hammock. Great spot with... More

The host of the lodge was very friendly and helpful. We did not have to check out at 12, we could cancel a booked night without problems (because our plans had changed) and greg made us excellent breakfast. We only paid 45 dollars for the room during high season. The lodge offers good value for the money. If you want... More

Nice and cozy place. It's not a place for people who like luxury and complain for the smallest thing. We had a great time though enjoying every minute there! Greg and Nancy were amazing and willing to help anytime we needed something.

I am absolutely amazed to see bad reviews about La Colina Lodge! The place is very nice, has a lot of character and we loved it! The rooms are good size, the food was good, the location is amazing, Nanci and Greg were extremely helpful with everything we needed. Highly recommend, unless you are spoiled and are expecting the Ritz... More

We booked this Hotel through a Costa Rican travel book. We are a family of 5, we have 3 boys aged 14,13 and 9. We booked 2 rooms to accommodate our family size. Upon arrival of this beautiful Lodge, Nanci and Greg were there to greet us. Inside the dining area/living room is brightly painted with a real home away... More

There are lots of outdoor activities to do in Monteverde such as horseback riding, zip lining, touring coffee plantations, hiking to the waterfalls and so much more. La Colina is a very homey place to stay. The owner Nancy is extremely friendly and very helpful. She is a very caring and giving person. Staying at La Colina is like staying... More
