On our request, we got a guided private tour outside from one of employees. Helped us identify a few birds we would otherwise never have seen. They have their own butterfly garden, where you can simply sit and watch. Had a great view on the forest from our room.

We stayed two nights and had a lovely time. We thought that the room might be too warm but with the sliding door open and the ceiling fan there was a nice fresh breeze. The tiny balcony is cleverly designed so two people can sit outside and enjoy the breeze, look at the forest and listen to the animals and... More

This was our second stop in Costa Rica for our honeymoon and we loved it. The gardens are beautiful and full of humming birds, butterflies and the occasional coati. We did the coffee tour, zip lining and butterfly garden tour and would recommend all of them! The food is great, the cocktails are fantastic and the wood burning fire in... More

Loved Monteverde, defiantly my favourite place in Costa Rica. Town is walking distance from lodge although it's quite hilly, loads of bars, restaurants and sodas (cafes) all ranges of price. Everything closes at 10pm tho. We went on the extreme zip wires, wow it's amazing go see tony at the El toucan hostel he will get you a great price,... More

Wow, your favorite place in Costa Rica! We are delighted that you had such a wonderful time. It sounds like you took full advantage of the activities, the town and everything that Monteverde has to offer. I’d like to clarify that there is no charge for walking on the grounds or the trails of Monteverde Lodge. This guest must have... More

This hotel in a great location close to St Elena village, but also a tranquil area with nice gardens and trails. Our room was nice and clean with a pleasant balcony. While there was a fault with the toilet this was fixed fairly speedily. We took a variety of tours which were excellent, with Carlos being a superb guide. Service... More

My daughter & I stayed at Monteverde Lodge & Gardens for two nights in one of the charming garden rooms where our door opened out into beautiful gardens. Everything about this hotel was first rate, the service, staff, gardens, accommodations, value for your money and breakfast! Of the four resorts we stayed at during our trip to Casta Rica, this was by far the best. The room was comfortable and had a balcony overlooking a wooded area. The last day a sloth took up residence in one of the trees. Shower was good and the linens and amenities were fine. The lobby was spacious with room... More

We stayed here during our second visit to this beautiful country. Hotel is very comfortable and beautiful gardens. We had a corner second floor room with a balcony, which was great to see the hummingbird feeders. Good restaurant and food, warm customer service like every where in Costa Rica. Highlight was a private tour of the cloud forest after zip... More

I couldn’t agree more with this guests when she writes: “If you love nature and learning about birds, and plants, take a guide.!” The right guide will elevate an already wonderful cloud forest experience to a truly magical one for you. He or she will insure that you have the best experience because they all live here, study it, know... More

The Monteverde Lodge and Gardens was a great little place to stay when touring Monteverde. We enjoyed our time here very much and would likely return when visiting the area. As an overview: Rooms: The rooms were lovely but quite small. However, they met their purpose and we enjoyed having a nice small balcony looking out over the forest. The... More

It’s great to hear that you had a “solid stay” at the lodge. I’m delighted to hear that you enjoyed the rooms, the service, the grounds and the guides. Thank you for letting us know that the tenderloin was “chewy”. The Sugar Cane Kebab Skewers with beef tenderloin marinated with soy sauce, honey, ginger, and garlic is one of the... More

Our second stop in Costa Rica was Monteverde. This hotel is quite luxurious and set in a true garden of Eden. Lots of quiet nooks etc to photograph birds and animals. The garden is a work of art. The rooms are large with balconies. We ate every night in the hotel restaurant. The Exec Chef has imaginative ideas and knows... More

We are delighted to hear that CanberraTell felt that Monteverde Lodge was luxurious and that our gardens are a work of art!
