We were immensely happy that we stayed at Hotel El Bosque. We hiked on their trail, saw local capuchin monkeys. We loved being near a wonderful bakery and cooperatively run restaurant. Our host, Minor, was immensely helpful. We had a wonderful time hiking at Monteverde Cloud Forest with a guide Minor recommended. We loved being surrounded by nature.

By mid afternoon we got to Monteverde and our group of five gal friends and I were anxious to see and feel the cloud forest once again. I liked El Bosque alot. It is a simple place, but clean and the price is unbeatable. The buildings are rustic in style and the grounds wonderfully cared for. The fit and finish is a bit cottage in nature, but there is private bathroom and hot water. There are trails to hike with plenty of natural fauna right at hand.... More

Grounds are beautiful--lots of flowers. You can hike on the grounds -- no guide needed. The people that run El Bosque is family owned and they are so sweet, friendly, helpful and so enjoyable.
